Liquid Cooling Systems

Liquid Cooling systems can be a critical part of many aerospace and defense applications due to their ability to fit into tight spaces and keep systems at exact temperatures. In Aerospace, sensitive electronic equipment such as avionics, radar, and computing systems can generate excessive heat during normal operations. Keeping these systems at optimal temperature ensures peak performance and avoids costly breakdowns.

Liquid Cooling systems circulate a coolant, such as Polyalphaolefin, around electronic equipment, absorbing heat as it circulates throughout the system. The coolant is then pumped into a heat exchanger and cooled to the desired temperature before recirculating.

Modern aircraft are often equipped with both air and liquid cooling. Liquid Cooling is favored in situations where space is limited, such as tightly packed avionics systems, situations where the heat source is far from the heat sink, or when cooling is required in unpressurized environments.

PDT offers distributed and Integrated cooling systems, depending upon the needs of our customers.

Distributed systems
are component sets for integration by the customer. We offer highly reliable liquid cooling system components ready to work with your existing systems. From pumps, accumulators and reservoirs, and thermal control valves, PDT can provide a key component of your existing system. Distributed components are often preferred in situations where there is insufficient space available for a single integrated system, or where it’s desirable to have components in widely spaced locations.

Integrated Cooling systems are components interconnected as full assemblies ready for installation. If you are looking for a complete liquid cooling system, PDT offers total solutions that are tailored to your specifications. A Liquid cooling system can consist of several key parts: Pumps, Accumulators & Reservoirs, Heat Exchangers, and Flow Control Valves. An integrated system consolidates all the components together in one package, which eliminates the weight and cost of interconnecting tubing and harnesses.

PDT’s liquid cooling solutions are trusted on major commercial aerospace, defense, and space platforms.
Our liquid cooling solutions are highly reliable, customizable, and able to perform under extreme conditions.
