PROGRAM MANAGER

SUMMARY:

The Program Manager applies knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to program activities to meet program requirements. Directs, coordinates, and exercises program authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects within area of assigned responsibility. Responsible for the overall surveillance and success of assigned functions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  • Plans and formulates design, engineering and production programs and directs the organization of program staff according to program requirements.
  • Coordinates project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, and preparation of specifications, technical plans, support documentation, product manufacturing and testing.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Directs integration of technical activities and products.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
  • Controls expenditures and schedule limitations of project budget.
  • Prepares interim and completion program schedules, status reports and budget reports.
  • Interacts with customers via, teleconferences, program reports and design reviews.
  • Monitors project for task requests that represent a change in program scope. Identify cost/schedule impacts for changes in scope and work with contracts manager to negotiate an equitable adjustment to the contract.
  • Prepare Engineering/Design non-recurring estimates and budgets

POSITION CRITERIA:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Science or Mathematics and a minimum of five years related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Fundamental knowledge of the principles of Program Management.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a clear, polite and courteous manner.
  • Knowledge of standard drafting procedures, including ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Requires knowledge of military and commercial standards.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes and their relationship to design practices.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Requires strong interpersonal communications (written and verbal) with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner and on schedule.
  • Requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with ability to organize and maintain proprietary files and records.
  • Requires ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing conditions and requirements.
  • Requires ability to effectively read and interpret documentation, i.e., drawings, specifications, contracts, agreements, government notices, company operating procedures, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical and financial calculations relative to pricing, estimating, budgeting and reporting.

License, Certification, or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Program Management Certificate Program is preferred

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceived attributes of objects and materials.

Tools Used:

  • Personal computer and software (Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Standard office equipment; telephone, copier, facsimile machine, calculator, and others as required.

Comments:

Overtime and time pressure are common during peak periods.

COST ANALYST/BUYER

Position Description:

Cost Analyst/Buyer is required to provide support to Operations in preparing RFQs for new and reorder Sales Orders to insure costs are relayed to Operations Manager to support of Sales/Contracts bids.

Costing Duties:

  • Attend Sales and Operations meetings pertaining to program costing decisions.
  • Work with Purchasing to determine the best options for supplier purchases that meet the needs of each specific Sales Order and customer demand.
  • Note program Sales Order/Work Ticket numbers on all quoting and purchasing documents.
  • Query information or Run reports from “SAGE” database to determine past costs.
  • Be familiar with Bill of Materials and be able to create RFQs from these documents.

Buying Duties:

  • Create Purchase Orders for items from manual Material Requisitions as needed.
  • Create Purchase Orders for Production items from Sales Order demand as needed.
  • Be familiar with Bill of Materials and be able to create RFQs from these documents.
  • Create reports on Purchase Order item status as required.
  • Maintain strong Supplier relationships.

Skills:

  • Be familiar with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software programs.
  • Be familiar with ERP database systems
  • Be familiar with internet searching
  • Be familiar with electronic drawings for Production parts
  • Be familiar with Inventory Control concepts
  • Be familiar with Production Control concepts

REGIONAL SALES MANAGER – NORTH EAST

SUMMARY:

Manages and directs all sales activities within assigned territory to achieve corporation bookings and sales objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  • Responsible to the corporation to be the forward facing point of contact to all customers within the assigned territory.
  • Responsible for lead generation, lead qualification, account strategies, proposal preparation, and subsequent proposal follow-up with the customer in assigned territory.
  • Will assist the BD Director and Contracts Manager with contract negotiations, closing the sale and subsequent up-sell plans for key accounts.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction during program execution and after market service.
  • Will help develop strategies to increase sales revenue within territory to meet assigned targets.
  • Will assist in the development of sales forecasts, marketing plans, planning of sales exhibits and attend trade shows.
  • Will assist the BD Director in the coordination and development of sales and training meetings to include site selection, agenda preparation and presentations.
  • Keeps informed of competitive activity and new products or technology that may be of interest to customers.
  • Will author and provide timely reports on market intelligence and customer visits in concert with key sales objectives and programs.

  • Some college and/or five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
