PROJECT ENGINEER

SUMMARY:

Researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, testing, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Design test control apparatus and equipment and develop procedures for testing products.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  • Coordinate activities between internal departments, vendors and/or customers to achieve technical and program objectives.
  • Manage project/program activities, with supervision, to achieve cost and schedule objectives.
  • Assists program manager in preparation of program status reports, schedules and other data items.
  • Prepares and revises, as necessary, technical data items such as test procedures, reports, analysis reports, etc.
  • Perform technical analysis, with supervision, to include stress, performance, and thermal analysis.
  • Prepare presentation material and conduct meetings and/or teleconferences with internal departments, vendors and/or customers.

POSITION CRITERIA:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of engineering subjects and ability to apply concepts such as statistics and dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Fundamental knowledge of heat transfer systems, pumps and cooling systems, components and testing thereof.
  • Knowledge of standard drafting procedures, including ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of machine shop manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial standards helpful but not required.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes and their relationship to design practices.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks design software helpful but not required.
  • Requires strong interpersonal communications (written and verbal) with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner and on schedule.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, polite and courteous manner.
  • Requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with ability to organize and maintain proprietary files and records.
  • Requires ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing conditions and requirements.
  • Requires ability to effectively read and interpret documentation, i.e., drawings, specifications, contracts, agreements, government notices, company operating procedures, etc.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and basic statistical analysis.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceived attributes of objects and materials.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Our ideal candidate would have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • BS in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline
  • Education and/or job experience with lean manufacturing principles and applications
  • Ability to  provide effective communications (oral and written) to aid technicians in assembly and test operations
  • Ability to create manufacturing metrics and analyze the resulting data to determine optimization strategies
  • Experience and/or interest in fluid handling equipment or rotating machinery is a plus

SUMMARY:

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by optimizing product and manufacturing methods. Responsible for the continuous improvement of product quality through lean manufacturing concepts and activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  • Evaluates and optimizes manufacturing processes by studying current and proposed methods; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes to meet product requirements while optimizing labor and material inputs.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Researches and makes recommendations for equipment purchases to support manufacturing operations.
  • Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians. Prepare and maintain manufacturing work instructions in accordance with company’s standards.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains product and process data metrics by creating spreadsheets, charts, and other presentation materials.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information to support management decision making and address customer audits.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by promoting compliance with government and customer regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Maintain and enhance knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Identify cost-savings and quality improvement projects in assigned area(s) and move them from concept to implementation. Design new Lean Manufacturing concepts or evaluate, improve, and implement existing concepts and best-in-class manufacturing techniques.
  • Contributes to efficiency improvements by leading and/or participating in team projects to meet desired goals. Ensure solutions achieve required quality levels, reliability, and consistency.
  • Incorporate engineering specifications into design, process, or techniques and provide feedback to capture lessons learned.

POSITION CRITERIA:

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  2. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  3. Strong leadership skills.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Fluency in written and spoken English.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Vacuum and clean-room experience highly desirable
  • Experience within a highly technical production environment is highly desirable.
  • Quality training and experience in SPC, Kanban, Kaizen, ISO-9000, Lean, Six-Sigma highly desirable
  • Experience with Solidworks CAD drawing preferred.
  • Project Management Professional certification a plus.
  • Able to effectively communicate, written and orally, with employees and technical professionals/consultants.
  • Adept in the use of computers, software applications and other technology tools used for the purpose of information gathering, designing, product testing, computation, communication and product documentation.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and demonstrate hands on ability.
  • Practical mindset with strong ability to read and interpret highly technical documents (e.g., schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, routings, operating, maintenance, and job safety instructions/procedures) provided in verbal, written or pictorial form.

CLERK: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/PAYROLL

SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Director of Finance:

Account Payable: Makes vendor payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Payroll: Process payroll by receiving, reviewing and entering employee’s time worked into the payroll and the company ERP system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

Accounts Payable

  • Process and post accounts payable including processing invoices, matching bills to purchase orders, verifying prices and shipping charges, verifying federal id numbers, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Reconcile credit card statements.
  • Process cash disbursements, including manual checks.
  • Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances.
  • Maintain a variety of electronic and manual records; prepare routine and special reports.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with suppliers and staff members to exchange information, resolve discrepancies, and correct errors.
  • Operate a computer and assigned accounting and payroll software; enter and retrieve data and assure accuracy of data input; operate office equipment including 10-key calculator by touch.
  • Prepare letters, memoranda, bulletins, reports, schedules, lists, charts, forms, and other material from straight copy, rough draft, notes, or verbal instructions.
  • Gather and produce special project information as requested by the Director of Finance or auditors.
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.
  • Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
  • Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Payroll

  • Process payroll in the payroll system including employee paid leave benefit accruals, authorized deductions.
  • Process payroll in the ERP system- hours, employee paid leave benefit accruals, authorized deductions
  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and record keeping procedures (GAAP) a plus
  • Accounts payable and payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong integrity; job requires being professional, honest and ethical
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex accounting and clerical duties involving the highest degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately

REGIONAL SALES MANAGER – NORTH EAST

SUMMARY:

Manages and directs all sales activities within assigned territory to achieve corporation bookings and sales objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  • Responsible to the corporation to be the forward facing point of contact to all customers within the assigned territory.
